  • Is Bitcoin a Store of Value? Experts on BTC as Digital Gold

It’s hard to tell who was the first to coin — pun intended — Bitcoin as “digital gold,” underlining the idea that Bitcoin is a good store of value. The phrase possibly came into more widespread use after The New York Times journalist Nathaniel Popper’s book, “Digital Gold,” was published in 2015. Google searches for the term “Bitcoin digital gold” peaked in December 2017, when the leading cryptocurrency’s price hit record highs around $20,000 per coin.  For thousands of years of human history, people have used precious metals — namely copper, silver and gold — to fulfill the main functions of money: a unit of account, a medium of exchange and a store of value.  Well before Bitcoin was born, computer scientist Nick Szabo wrote a proposal for “bit gold,” laying out a concept for secure digital money that is often referred to as Bitcoin’s predecessor. • Cloud Disk Can Not Solve the Individual Huge Data Storage Needs in the 5G Era

The 5G era will bring even greater data and storage needs, and the growing number of data types is a major contradiction with limited hard disk space. The bandwidth consumption and tariff cost of the network disk will not be the most preferable for personal data storage. A costly and professional home data center is not the best way to solve the massive data of the general public. Cloud storage is a cloud computing model that allows us to store, access and share data over the Internet. In fact, the network disk is a cloud disk or cloud storage with a name changed. Traditional cloud disk, such as Amazon Cloud Drive, Google Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive, are more services for enterprise storage. Dropbox, iCloud, and Baidu Netdisk are completely unable to handle the long-term data storage of multiple devices in the face of free space for individual users. Blockchain network disks, such as Sia, Storj, Mainsafe, Filecoin, BiFi Pro, distributed storage systems based on various P2P technologies, have not been able to efficiently complete file storage distribution. Although the entire blockchain…
