In recent years, the United Arab Emirates has been aggressively pursuing emerging technologies like blockchain as it works to become a hub for tech innovation. A new whitepaper suggests that the UAE’s efforts to adopt blockchain technology could net as much as $3 billion in savings each year.
The paper, Inclusive Deployment of Blockchain: Case Studies and Learning from the United Arab Emirates, was created by the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution UAE, Dubai Future Foundation, C4IR, and the World Economic Forum. Its creators examined seven case studies on blockchain deployment in both the public and private space, to better understand and share those lessons. They also surveyed more than 100 government and private stakeholders currently exploring blockchain.
As Emirates News Agency reports,
The report cites both Dubai Blockchain Strategy in 2016, and the Emirates Blockchain Strategy in 2018. Statistically, in addition to the cost savings, the UAE government can eliminate 398 million printed documents and 77 million work hours per year through leveraging blockchain to process routine transactions. Currently, 80 percent of public and private sector entities are already using the technology.
In the survey, 80 percent of government officials suggested that early identification of the right blockchain solutions is key to any successful implementation of the technology. Meanwhile, the main challenges to adoption and implementation are not technical factors, but operational and regulatory concerns.

Dow Stalls After Tired Trump Speech Underwhelms Stock Market
The Dow Jones posted a minor decline on Tuesday to edge below its record high. President Trump’s economic speech provided no fresh trade war insights for a nervy mass of stock market bulls. Investors will now look ahead to Jerome Powell’s testimony before Congress tomorrow. The Dow Jones crept sideways on Tuesday as a hotly anticipated economic speech by President Donald Trump in New York failed to provide any real insights into the trade outlook. Keeping the stock market afloat was the fact that Trump continues to lead Dow bulls with the carrot that a trade deal with China could happen soon. Dow Jones Struggles as Traders Run Out of Fuel Of the three major stock market indices, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was the worst performer. Minutes before the closing bell, the Dow had declined 32.24 points or 0.12% to 27,659.25. Man With a Mission: Jack Dorsey Wants to Bring Bitcoin Adoption to Africa
For the last month, Twitter and Square CEO, Jack Dorsey, has been going around Africa to understand the state of the region, most likely from a financial services and payment perspective. According to Forbes, Dorsey met Bitcoin business owners at a meetup in Nigeria and subsequently tweeted that Africa will define the Bitcoin future, December 1, 2019. Bitcoin and Emerging Markets Driving a revolution in a particular industry takes a lot of effort from developers and early adopters, but the most important part is to find a group of people who will benefit from the change in norms. Jack Dorsey is looking to do exactly that, and he has narrowed down his scope to the continent of Africa. Broader awareness trends seem to fall in line with Dorsey’s Bitcoin hypothesis, as 3 of the top 5 countries that are searching Google for “Bitcoin” are African nations. Africa, in particular, has a very weak payments network. There are several stories highlighting the high costs and latency of transactions within a single country itself, let alone international transactions. Bitcoin and other financial…

3 Reasons Analysts Are Bullish on Bitcoin Despite 33% Price Correction
As Bitcoin dropped an additional 8% on Saturday, naysayers claim the rally to a new all-time high is over. So what is it that’s keeping market analysts bullish in the face of a 33 percent correction? Bitcoin price bears draw a line at $10,000 Bitcoin’s most recent price action has been less than satisfactory, unless you’re a bear. To date, the top digital asset is down 32% from it’s 2019 high of $13,739 and short term price action remains overwhelmingly bearish. Over the past two weeks Bitcoin formed an M-top at $13,739 and $13,177 before dropping to the neckline around $9,600. Most traders expect that Bitcoin will retrace to the 61.8% and 50% Fibonacci Retracement level which is also near the CME futures gap. It’s possible that the group think surrounding the CME gap is causing it to function as a magnet, drawing BTC price nearer to the $8,500 – $7,500 range. Traders will also have noted that Bitcoin has dropped out of the broadening wedge that had carried it from $4,000 to the 2019 high and the parabolic trend…

Bitcoin (BTC) Dominance Yet To Break Past 70% But Market Outlook Remains Gloomy
Bitcoin dominance (BTC.D) has once again fallen short of breaking past the key 70% level. This is what stands between Bitcoin (BTC) and the beginning of the next crash. The reason we expect it to coincide with the next crash is because Bitcoin dominance (BTC.D) rises mostly during periods of a downtrend when the altcoin market is falling harder compared to Bitcoin (BTC) thus leading to a higher Bitcoin dominance (BTC.D). Recently, we have seen a drop in dominance percentage but this is still not good news for the market because we have yet to see a break below the key trend line support shown on the chart. Even if this trend line support is broken, we would still need to see a break below the 23.6% fib level to get excited about a bull trend. Until and unless that happens, there is not much to expect on the bullish side for a number of reasons. If we were to disregard everything else and just looking at the Bitcoin dominance (BTC.D) chart, we can see an ascending triangle that may…

Bitcoin Price Shifts Toward Key Moving Average as Bears Target $5,000
As part of its current mid-term downtrend, Bitcoin (BTC) could be headed toward its 200-week moving average (MA), a level that has been a major historical bottom. Since hitting its 2019 high of approximately $13,890, Bitcoin has seen lower highs indicative of a downward trend, at least in the mid-term. After a corrective bounce up to $7,875 last week, Bitcoin was unable to shake its larger downtrend, heading back down to $7,285 by press time. The asset could ultimately have its sights set near $5,000 before a mid-term trend reversal as its charts look mostly bearish at present. Crypto market daily performance. Source: TradingView Bitcoin’s weekly chart painted a wick that tested support near $6,550 last week, hitting just below a downside wick from May 2019. Below $6,550, the coin lacks weekly support and notable price action until $5,760. Back in April, Bitcoin’s price tallied significant price action between $5,760 and $4,890, indicating a zone of future support. This area of…

Trump’s Manic Stock Market Gaffe Completely Dumbfounds Twitter
President Donald Trump made an amazing gaffe referring to “409K’s” in a wild stock market tweet Thursday morning. How could this be a typo? The numbers 1 and 9 are on opposite sides of the keyboard. To be fair, the S&P 500 index is up over 70% since 2016. In an absolutely caffeine-fueled ALL CAPS tweet about the “STOCK MARKET” on Thursday morning, Donald Trump asked followers how their 409K’s are doing. Of course, the only problem is the tax-sheltered retirement savings plan Trump was referring to is called a 401(k). Source: Twitter (Since deleted, link is to Trump’s corrected tweet) Trump quickly deleted the 409K tweet and retweeted it with the correct term. If he were a true savage, Trump would have left the tweet up the way it was, warts and all. It could be that number 45 is getting soft on us. Maybe impeachment is getting to him. But the real question this morning is: Did Trump actually think it’s called a 409K? Or at least get retirement accounts mixed up with the famous 409 cleaning formula…
