John McAfee no Longer Believes Bitcoin can hit a $1 Million Target » The Merkle News
When individuals like John McAfee speak in public, some people immediately give credence to what he is saying. Others tend to dismiss his claims very quickly, for rather obvious reasons.
A while ago, the entire world was looking at John McAfee for his Bitcoin price predictions.
John McAfee is Still Talking About Bitcoin
McAfee predicted, at that time, how Bitcoin would easily hit $1 million in the near future.
As odd as that claim sounded back then, it took the entire cryptocurrency community by storm.
However, it didn’t take long before the excitement quieted down again.
This was primarily influenced by McAfee openly “pumping” altcoins and new tokens as promoted Tweets.
Today, it seems as if the Bitcoin price prediction of $1 million will not come true by any means.
Not just because Bitcoin’s price isn’t moving up as quickly, but primarily because McAfee refuted his own claim.
I’m the person who predicted Bitcoin, the most crippled crypto-tech, would reach $1 mil.
Are you one of the persons who did not see the absurd humor in it?
I posted it on the same day I predicted Whale Fucking would replace Surfing as the number one water sport.
— John McAfee (@officialmcafee) May 30, 2020
In fact, he now claims how the Bitcoin price prediction is “pure nonsense” and should have never been taken seriously.
Ever since McAfee refuted his own bogus claims, the Bitcoin value surpassed $10,000 again.
As such, it remains crucial to keep a close eye on the individual markets at all times and conduct one’s own research.

On Friday Bitcoin (BTC) price reclaimed $8,000 as bulls appear to be setting their sights on a second go at the weekly high at $8,473. Earlier in the week, crypto-media speculated that the price run-up to $8,473 was fuelled by fear of a war breaking out between the United States and Iran. Then, as the price pulled back after U.S. President Donald Trump declined to further escalate the situation, analysts again attributed the entire boom above $8.4K and the swift retracement to $7,660 to the Iran-U.S. conflict. Today’s move back above $8,000 suggests that technical factors, not just geopolitical events, are driving Bitcoin’s recent price action. Cryptocurrency market weekly overview. Source: Coin360 After topping out at $8,473, on Jan. 8, analysts forecast that if Bitcoin failed to hold the 200-day moving average, the price would pull back to the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level near $7,500. At the time, the rally was showing signs of exhaustion as the relative strength index (RSI) was overbought and the moving average convergence divergence (MACD) histogram also was beginning to show a reduction in momentum….Jan 11, 2020

Google Play market and Apple’s AppStore will reportedly soon feature the Telegram Open Network (TON) operating system (OS), an end-to-end open-source infrastructure that allows developers and users to work with the TON blockchain. The TON OS will soon become available on smartphones and personal computers for mainstream users, a source close to Telegram told Russian news agency RBC on April 29. TON OS is not an alternative to existing operating systems, but will serve as an add-on for devices, making them able to support blockchain applications. Big plans for the future The source said that with TON OS, users can create applications that are automatically compatible with the blockchain platform. They expect that, in the future, the OS will support applications with numerous functions, including transacting various assets including cryptocurrencies: “When it comes to finance or voting, decentralized management can solve a huge number of problems with corruption, management efficiency, citizen involvement. Small businesses will be able to reduce costs by using a secure chat for participants, managing assets of this business and contractual relations of the parties.” Google and…Apr 29, 2020
Peer-to-peer, or P2P, trading platform, Oobit, has launched its purportedly SkyScanner-styled Bitcoin (BTC) price aggregator, Oobit Hunter. Oobit has also launched ‘Pass’ — “a single KYC passport for use on multiple trading platforms” that allows traders to access multiple exchanges simultaneously. Despite bold claims of offering unprecedented trading functionality, Hunter appears to host little more than a collection of affiliate links and a P2P exchange listing that facilitates trade between users and Oobit’s CEO. Coinbase partners with crypto liquidity aggregator Oobit’s Hunter is described as “an AI-driven liquidity aggregator” that searches multiple exchanges to identify the best available prices for cryptocurrencies. The firm has partnered with Coinbase to launch Hunter, with Coinbase providing custody and escrow services to users. Oobit hopes to target crypto users of all levels, claiming that Hunter can both assist newcomers wanting to find the simplest route to purchase crypto with fiat and advanced traders seeking arbitrage opportunities. Oobit’s KYC ‘passport’ offers access to multiple exchanges The firm has also launched it’s “unified know-your-customer (KYC) passport,” Oobit Pass. Jan 04, 2020 at 13:09 // News The bulls have made four unsuccessful attempts at $136 as the coin continues its range-bound movement. Each time there is price rejection the market falls to the lows of either $124 or $128. Two days ago, the price retested the $132 and dropped at a low of $126. Later the price made an upward move. This completes the bulls’ fourth attempt at the overhead resistance. The continual resistance is a testimony of the coin’s lack of buyers at higher price levels. Meanwhile, ETH is trading and approaching the overhead resistance. It is unlikely if the bulls are capable of breaking the resistance except for a price breakout. This is given the fact that the $136 price level will be regarded as a strong resistance having been tested for the fourth time. Ethereum Indicator Analysis On December 29, ETH broke over the 12-day EMA but was repelled by the 26-day EMA. A successful breakout over the EMAs will catapult the coin over the $140 price level. Meanwhile, ETH is trading at level 48 of the…Jan 4, 2020
Bitcoin [BTC] price logs a strong bearish candlestick on the 4-hour and daily charts, as the bulls get rejected from $7200. Just as the markets were starting to flip bullish, a long ‘shooting star’ candlestick on the daily and 4-hour chart sounds alarms for bears in the markets. Moreover, the dojis (small change between opening and closing) and spinning tops appear in a cluster following the Dofi indicate indecision in the market. Amun AG, a Swiss-based financial technology firm that creates financial on-ramps for the acquisition, trading and storage of cryptoassets, has announced the launch of its 21Shares Short Bitcoin exchange-traded product (ETP). The new ETP is listed on Switzerland’s SIX Stock Exchange and it allows bitcoin (BTC) traders to make a profit whenever the price of bitcoin (BTC) falls, reports The Block on January 23, 2020. Amun Enables Traders to Bet Against Bitcoin While Bitcoin (BTC) ‘hodlers’ are always praying for the price of the world’s flagship cryptocurrency to hit the moon, Swiss-based Amun AG has rolled out a new ETP that will also put a smile on the faces of traders during a bear market. Per sources close to the development, Amun calls its new inverse exchange-traded product the 21Shares Short Bitcoin ETP (SBTC). The firm says SBTC is listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange (SIX) and as the name implies, it makes it possible for anyone to make money by betting on negative price movements of bitcoin. Notably, the firm has made it clear that the new ETP comes…Jan 23, 2020
Feb 07, 2020 at 15:15 // News In the previous week, Litecoin rebounded at the $66 low which catapulted LTC to a high of $73. Presently, LTC is threatened by the bears at the $73 resistance. The resistance has caused LTC to a sideways move above $72. Litecoin is fluctuating above $72 but below $75. Assuming the $73 resistance is breached, the price will rise to the $80 price level. A downward move cannot be ruled out if the bears break below $72. Litecoin may suddenly go down to $66 low. However, the $73 is the previous price level in August 2019. In August, the market was in consolidation at that same price level but LTC fell according to the prevailing trend. Litecoin Indicator Analysis Litecoin traded and attained a high of $73. Similarly, LTC has gone up by 80% range of the daily stochastic. This indicates that Litecoin is in the overbought region. In that region, the uptrend may be interrupted because of the absence of buyers to push LTC upward. Usually, sellers are available to push LTC downward….Feb 7, 2020
U.S. crypto exchange giant is among a list of cryptocurrency companies granted temporary licensing exemptions by financial regulators in Singapore. The move is a direct result of the regulatory requirements imposed on virtual currency businesses on account of the country’s Payment Services Act (PSA). Coinbase Among Crypto Firms Granted Exemption by MAS The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has released a document listing the crypto firms granted temporary licensing exemptions. Among the exempted companies are Coinbase along with other industry staples like Binance, BitGo, and Ripple. Binance applied for a crypto license in Singapore back in mid-February 2020. Following the exemption, the companies can continue operating in Singapore until July 28, 2020, pending when they submit formal applications to be licensed in the country. According to the MAS, the exempted companies did notify regulators of their intent to submit filings towards being authorized to operate in Singapore. As for companies that failed to notify the MAS, the document reads: “Entities that have been providing the specific payment services before the commencement of the PS Act, but have failed to notify…Mar 28, 2020
