At the end of January, a poll apparently confirmed community support for a new mining reward-distribution structure for the Zcash (ZEC) network, whereby more will flow into the developer fund. Still, the decision proved to be rather controversial.Electric Coin Company, the firm behind Zcash, announced in a Jan. 2 blog post that a community poll on the Zcash Improvement Proposal 1014 — referred to as ZIP 1014 — showed a consensus for implementing a 20% fee on mining rewards. The results showed that 77 people, or 87.5% of all votes, were in favor of the implementation, while just 11 people, or 12.5% of all votes, stood against it. But some in the cryptocurrency space have expressed concern that the poll may not accurately represent the stance of the community.Still, data published by the Zcash Foundation revealed that 71 members of the Zcash community forum also voted in a separate poll, where a less-overwhelming majority showed support for fees on ZEC mining, as well. The foundation also set up miner signaling, but no votes were collected that way.A Zcash community manager…Mar 22, 2020
Conservative media in the U.S. have been attacking Democrats and media outlets such as CNN and the New York Times for using the coronavirus to bring down President Trump.Peter Hegseth of Fox & Friends Weekends claims that “they’re rooting for the coronavirus to spread.”It sounds paranoid, but given how low U.S. politics have sunk, is it really that crazy a theory?Fox News host Peter Hegseth is the latest paranoid right-wing media personality to claim that the Democrats and the liberal media are using the coronavirus to bring down President Donald Trump:You start to feel, you really do, watch the Democrats, watch the media, you start to feel like they’re rooting for coronavirus to spread. Wow, how crazy is this guy? (Maybe a little crazy.)But when it comes to how the left-wing media has treated coronavirus, he does have a point. Despite the paranoia, there could be something hereI admit I was taken aback somewhat when I saw this New York Times opinion piece by Gail Collins admonishing readers to rename coronavirus the “Trumpvirus.” Source: The New York Times I know,…Mar 6, 2020

It represents an artificial satellite that can host several crew members. The programme, which launched in 1998, is a joint effort between NASA, Russian Roscosmos, Japanese JAXA, European ESA, and Canadian CSA.The blockchain payload was launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9, which deployed SpaceX’s Dragon cargo capsule into orbit. Soon after the launch, the Falcon 9 landed on the SpaceX’s drone ship in the Atlantic ocean, while the cargo capsule is expected to reach the ISS this Sunday. The racket…Dec 6, 2019

The week is drawing to a close with Bitcoin back above $7,000 which keeps it consolidating as the bulls and bears battle it out. Long term trend lines are holding as is strong support but those are not the only reasons why the next bull run could be imminent.Bitcoin Holds Major SupportSince its big mid-week pump, Bitcoin has held above $7,000 which has been crucial for the bigger picture. Over the past 24 hours BTC has found stable ground in the $7,150 area and has continued to consolidate there. The move has kept the asset within its range bound channel for the past four weeks or so. The key take however is the holding of major support in the mid-$6k zone.A short squeeze at the $6,500 prevented what would surely have been a huge dump down to $5k where the 200 week moving average and a number of Fib retracement levels lie.As reported by NewsBTC yesterday, the $6,500 region is a key long term support zone and was the most traded price for Bitcoin for 2018. Industry analysts such as Peter…Dec 20, 2019

Jesus Rodriguez, of Into the Block, recently published some really interesting data on the UTXO sets of Bitcoin and other leading public blockchains. The data gives excellent insight to the actual way coins are being held and moved around by cryptocurrency users. Analysts Leverage UTXOs to Quantify Onchain DataUTXOs are Unspent Transaction Outputs. The easiest way to understand UTXOs is to imagine a cryptocurrency token as a 5 dollar bill. If you buy a soft drink for 2 dollars and spend your 5 dollar bill, you should receive 3 dollars in change. You no longer have the 5 dollar bill, the 2 dollars you gave to the soft drink vendor is your input, and now the UTXO of the vendor. Your change is your Unspent Transaction Output or UTXO of 3 dollars. A blockchain simply keeps track of who has access to which UTXOs.Be aware that not all cryptocurrencies or blockchains use this UTXO model, but many do, as this was the mechanism chosen by Satoshi for Bitcoin, and many blockchains are based upon or forked directly from Bitcoin’s codebase….Jan 27, 2020
