What Is Bitcoin Mixer? And What Are the Reasons to Use It?
Over the last decade, Bitcoin has emerged as a formidable cryptocurrency finding its use-case and application in multiple areas. However, we all know that Bitcoin’s distributed ledger is a public blockchain network. This means that anyone on the Bitcoin network can view the entire history of transactions. While the Bitcoin network provides absolute transparency it also gives illicit players a chance to look into your transactions. It is well-know that Bitcoin transactions aren’t linked to real-world identities. However, by looking at the spending patterns, someone can decode that which addresses are controlled by the same wallets. Note that not all time one’s guess can be correct but there is a fair enough chance that one can decode the link. This is where Bitcoin Mixers also called Bitcoin tumblers come into the picture. What Is a Bitcoin Mixer? Bitcoin Mixer is basically a software solution that allows users to mix their tokens/coins in order to preserve their privacy. Bitcoin mixer helps to obscure the ties between real-world identities and Bitcoin addresses. Thus, it adds an additional layer of privacy to your…

Staying Alive: Why the World of Enterprise Blockchain Has Turned to Collaborations
Enterprise blockchain isn’t dead, but survival has meant more collaboration and some smart pivots. That was the prevailing sentiment in the enterprise-focused corners of this week’s Consensus: Distributed conference. Back in 2015, a large amount of hype was generated as whole industries, starting with finance, began espousing the technology behind bitcoin, which would transform business processes and herald a global technological upgrade. A recalibration of expectation followed as the technology entered Gartner’s infamous trough of disillusionment. There was also a narrowing down of the space into three quite separate enterprise-focused blockchain networks: R3 Corda, Hyperledger and enterprise Ethereum. But these days, we are starting to see players putting their tribal instincts aside – often by necessity. For instance, Kaleido, the blockchain cloud service backed by ConsenSys, revealed a partnership Tuesday with R3 to run on the latter’s Corda network. Enterprise Ethereum and R3 Corda have always been rivals and such a collaboration would have been unthinkable a year ago. (Tuesday’s reporting also revealed Kaleido had been spun out of the ConsenSys mothership in early April.) Read more: R3 Corda Partners…

New Anti-Piracy Campaign Piles On The Scare Tactics But Who’s Scared? |
Twitter Facebook reddit Pinterest Hacker News LinkedIn Tumblr Google+ VKontakte Anyone who creates creative content has the right to protect that work from unauthorized wholesale reproduction. It is their work, their investment, and they should be able to benefit from the toils of their labors, copyright law dictates. The reality, of course, is that while people can claim their rights all day long, there are plenty of avenues to obtain that content online without paying for it. As a result, entertainment industry groups are relentless in their efforts to disrupt and discourage such behavior. One of the tried-and-tested methods is the anti-piracy campaign. Often in the form of short videos, trailers and clips presented online, within physical media, and on TV, these presentations get around 30 seconds to make an impact on the public. That is not a long time and as a result, the creatives behind these projects have to get well….creative….for want of a better word. In recent years, the many ‘creative’ approaches are now diverging into what appears to be a coordinated global effort to physically scare…

Chicago-based Bitcoin of America Grows in Popularity and Spreads All Over U.S.
The number of Bitcoin ATMs worldwide is constantly increasing and has recently exceeded 6500 units installed all over the globe. However, the geographical distribution is far from distributed. According to coinatmradar, most of these machines are installed in the United States of America for a total of almost 67 percent. These machines offer a simple and safe method to convert your paper money with Bitcoins. Some Bitcoin machines also support sell Bitcoin operations. Understanding the Difference However, a distinction must be made between ATM manufacturers and Bitcoin to cash and cash to Bitcoin service providers. Alleged Deer.io Black Market Kingpin Arrested by FBI
Kirill Victorovich Firsov, the alleged owner of Russian-based anonymous marketplace Deer.io, was arrested on March 7 by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officials at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. Court documents allege that Firsov is the mastermind behind Deer.io — a site that offered darknet-style services in exchange for Bitcoin on the normal web. The FBI estimates it has facilitated more than $17 million worth of sales. Firsov will be arraigned in New York court later this week, where he is expected to face charges for trafficking stolen information, and aiding and abetting trafficking. Deer.io hosted $17 million in black market sales since 2013 Since 2013, Deer.io has hosted 24,000 active stores specializing in stolen information, offering a simple ‘turn-key’ solution for black-market entrepreneurs. Vendors would pay roughly 800 Russian rubles ($12.50) to operate on Deer.io each month, with hosting offered on private Russian servers out of the reach of U.S. authorities. Fees were paid to Firsov in Bitcoin (BTC) or via the Russian payments platform WebMoney. Of the 250 Deer.io shops reviewed by the FBI so far,…

Iowa Caucus Corruption Proves It’s 2016 All Over Again
The undeniable links between Pete Buttigieg’s campaign and the botched Iowa caucus will cast a shadow of doubt over establishment Democrats in the weeks ahead. If Buttigieg does become the Dems’ candidate, Trump will surely use this ordeal to prove his corruption accusations. If Bernie Sanders is once again elbowed away from the table by establishment Democrats, Trump has a great chance at winning in 2020. The disaster that was the Iowa primary caucus could be foreshadowing what’s to come this election cycle. As the Democrats move closer to choosing their candidate, it’s impossible to overlook the similarities between this year and 2016 when Hillary Clinton ran for office. Clinton was painted as an evil villain backed by an unimaginably corrupt political party. This year, history looks likely to repeat itself. Buttigieg’s Bizarre Iowa Caucus Victory The Iowa caucus was marred by glitches in the app tasked with reporting the results of each precinct. That meant the results from the vote weren’t clear until nearly a full day later. Still, one person was clear on who had emerged victorious— Pete…

Nintendo Switch Still Doesn’t Have Achievements. Here’s Why That’s Great
Nintendo Switch is the only major console that still doesn’t offer achievements. That’s due to Google Stadia joining in on the terrible achievements practice. It’s great that Nintendo doesn’t offer achievements on the Switch. With Google Stadia adding achievements to it’s streaming service, the Nintendo Switch is now the single holdout to not embrace the practice. That’s great since achievements are stupid anyway. Put down the pitchforks and hear me out. There are plenty of reasons that achievements are completely worthless. Easy achievements undercut the idea of achieving anything. | Source: Reddit Nintendo Switch Doesn’t Reward Mediocrity with Achievements Starting off, it’s dumb when a game gives players achievements just for playing the game. I’m talking about those ones that are like “Yay! You just beat the tutorial!” Is there really any gamer out there that’s happy to see an achievement show up when they complete the most basic aspect of a game? Do they really feel like they achieved anything? I sure hope not. Nothing like a reminder of reality to ruin the experience. | Source: Reddit Achievements Kill…

Sony’s PS5 Controller Needs to Finally Add This One Crucial Feature
Sony recently announced a new add-on for the DualShock 4. The upgrade is a welcome addition to the PS4 controller but falls short of Microsoft’s Elite controller. The DualShock 5 really needs to have these buttons by default when the PS5 launches. Sony recently released an attachment for the DualShock 4 that adds back paddles to the controller. While it is certainly a welcome addition for PS4 owners, it’s a little bit underwhelming compared to the efforts put forth by Microsoft with their Xbox Elite controller. Reprogrammable buttons are really a must-have for competitive play, and they’re insanely useful for casual gamers too. Realistically, for Sony to remain competitive with Microsoft, they need to ensure that these sorts of options are available by default with the PlayStation 5 controller. Source: Twitter Why The PlayStation 5 Needs Back Paddles The Elite controller for the Xbox One is ridiculously popular. The insane level of customizability means they can be adjusted for any game or playstyle. Sony’s DualShock line just doesn’t offer that level of usability. Even this new add-on only gives the…
